Ryan is a managing director in the Technology, Media and Telecom Group and global co-head of Software in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs. He advises companies on a broad range of transactions, including M&A, initial public offerings, debt and equity financings and activism defense. Ryan joined Goldman Sachs in 2012 and was named managing director in 2015 and partner in 2020.

Prior to joining the firm, Ryan was a senior associate at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Ryan is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Leadership Council at the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Ryan earned a BBA in Finance, summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 2001, a JD from the Duke University School of Law in 2006 and an
MBA from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business in 2006.
